Ghost Area Campgrounds:
|
Red Rock Sawmills Ltd., operates Burnt Timber, Fallen Timber, North Ghost, and Waiparous Creek west country campgrounds for the
Alberta Community Development Parks & Protected Areas. These campgrounds are located along Highway 40, north of Highway 1A and south of Highway 27.
Red Rock Sawmills Ltd. also operated the Westward Ho Family Park and Campground for Mountain View County, which is 50 kilometers west of Olds, Alberta on Highway 27.
Owned by Mark & Ingrid Tannas of Water Valley, Alberta, Red Rock Sawmills has been serving community area residents for several years. Mark was raised in Water Valley and with his family continues to make his home on a cattle ranch west of Water Valley in the County of Big Horn. When camping season shuts down, Mark and Ingrid keep busy with Grease Creek Outfitters, their hunting and outfitting business, welcoming clients from all over North America.
Mark and Ingrid receive lots of help from family and friends. Their son Luke, helps with the west country campgrounds. Scott and Janet Wilcox are the park managers for Westward Ho. They moved from the busy city of Calgary, Alberta, a couple of years ago to take the position of Park Managers at Westward Ho, and live on site year round. They welcome visitors to the park and look forward to meeting new people.
